Yes. Larger holes can usually be repaired by removing the damaged area, installing new drywall where needed and finishing the seams around the repair. The exact approach depends on the size and location of the damage.
Yes. We repair drywall damage on both walls and ceilings. This can include holes, cracks, previous repairs and areas damaged by water after the source of the water has been corrected.
It depends on how much of the drywall is damaged and what caused the damage. Small holes, cracks and isolated damaged areas can often be repaired without replacing an entire wall or ceiling. Larger areas or drywall that has been badly damaged may need to be removed and replaced. We can take a look and determine what makes sense for your project.
Yes. Plumbers and electricians sometimes need to open a wall or ceiling to reach pipes, wiring or other components. Once their work is finished, we can repair the opening, install new drywall where needed and finish the area.
Yes, but the source of the water needs to be fixed first. We do not want to close a wall or ceiling while there is still an active leak or moisture problem. Once that has been handled, we can look at the drywall and determine what needs to be repaired or replaced.
A properly finished repair should blend as closely as possible with the surrounding wall or ceiling. Finishing is an important part of the job because raised edges, uneven compound and poorly feathered seams can make a patch noticeable, especially when light moves across the surface.
Yes. We can repair cracks in walls and ceilings. If a crack repeatedly comes back, however, there may be movement or another underlying issue that needs to be addressed before another drywall repair will hold.
Yes. If you or another contractor already hung the drywall, we can take a look at the installation and handle the taping and finishing. The condition of the existing installation can affect how much work is required to get the walls ready for paint.
It depends on the repair. A small repair is different from replacing and finishing a larger section of drywall. Drying time between coats of joint compound can also affect the schedule. Once we see the project, we can give you a better idea of what to expect.
Yes. Carolina Drywall Tech also provides interior painting. If painting is included in your project, we can take the repair through the finishing stage and into paint rather than leaving you with a repaired area that still needs to be completed.
Yes, for smaller jobs. Carolina Drywall Tech will typically hang drywall for projects around 10 sheets or less. We specialize in drywall finishing, so for larger hanging jobs, we prefer to let professional drywall hangers handle the installation before we come in to tape and finish it.
